?The District Attorney called it one of the most horrific cases of child abuse ever seen in Fulton County.? When 5 year old Terrell Peterson was pronounced dead last year at Hughes Saldin Children?s Hospital. Doctors found his thin, fail, body battered and bruised, scared and malnourished. Death may have come from a blow to the head.? ?It was a brutal end to the brutal life of a child, who at least as a baby, was described as always laughing, getting into everything and loving to blow spit bubbles.?
Little Terrell Peterson was sent home to be with the lord in January, 1998. Terrell?s grandmother Pharina Peterson, his mother, and her boyfriend were charged with the brutal death of Terrell. Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane of Fulton County Superior Court had to throw out the key evidence (three hand written notes, a pair of brown panty-hose, a telephone cord, and a leather belt) which was collected by Det. R.B. Griffee but, could not be used as evidence because Griffee had no search warrant to search the house.
